One of Montana's most enduring Native American families may be pulling up stakes. The Gopher family believe they have done all that can be done to foster a better inter-racial climate in Montana. This family has been at the forefront of political, cultural, and social change in Montana for over a century. The family has a history dating to Chief Rocky Boy--their work has benefitted many tribal groups in the state, on many levels...family members are seeking a broader impact to strengthen the standing of native people on a national and international level, saying that Montana may not necessarily be the best place to make that happen.
