BARBEQUE IN MEMORY OF THANE GOPHER
Anishinabe leader, and ceremonial singer, Thane Gopher, 55, who was the brother of Glenn and Blair Gopher passed away on June 2, 2012 from complications of lung cancer. His five siblings, Glenn, Blair, Melinda, Miranda and Mary are hosting a barbeque in his memory for family and friends that did not have an opportunity to attend his services. Loud Thunder International, Inc, is pleased to announce Glenn Gopher and Blair Gopher, will be accompanying an Ojibway elder junion Slimjohn, at the invitation of the Saginaw Chippewa tribe to Mt. Pleasant, Michigan to conduct a much anticipated cultural presentation on the Gopher family's historic 13 Star Ojibway Peace Treaty Flag, and for other cultural purposes. This will coincide with NativeFest, on August 1-4, 2012. Sponsored by the Ziibiiwing Center for Anishinabe Culture and Lifeways.
